Fish Oil and its Benefits (Benefits of Fish Oil for Fitness and Health)

When the term “fats” is used, people tend to become worried, because they think that fats may give them a slow killing. What many people don’t know is the fact that the body ‘needs’ fats for survival. The ‘good’ fats are needed by the body, and the ‘bad’ fats are the unwanted ones.

Fish oil contains essential fatty acids- those that are required by the body. The essential fatty acids are classified into the Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids. Normally, too much of the Omega-6 fatty acids may cause inflammation in the body. Its other side effects cause growth of tumors, and clotting of blood. Omega-6 fatty acids are most commonly present in cooking oils. Fish oils are commonly rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which are very good for your health.

Research has shown that the unbalanced intake of the Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids may lead to severe heart problems. Omega-3-rich foods and oils if consumed regularly help prevent heart disorders. Some of the other diseases you may stay safe from upon consumption of Omega-3’s, are, arthritis, diabetes, ulcers, and even cancer.

Fish has been found to help in weight reduction, and in lowering blood pressure. The glucose tolerance of the body may be enhanced by using Omega-3 fatty acid rich foods on a regular basis. Apart from glucose tolerance, asthma patients are also relieved by regular consumption of fish. Studies have been carried out to see the effect on a number of children who have been on regular fish consumption. Results were that those who consumed fish high in Omega-3 fatty acids suffered lesser asthma attacks than those who did not. 

Therefore we can see that fish oils are necessary to keep the body healthy, and to keep safe from heart disorders, as well as a number of other ailments.
